Millevoci Choir

Millevoci Choir

Choir presentation

The Giuseppe Gherardeschi International Academy of Organ and Early Music in Pistoia and Il Rossignolo established the “MilleVoci” Youth Choir and Choral School in late 2022, with the aim of offering boys and girls general musical culture studies as well as vocal and choral technical training.

The choristers are trained and educated to perform one of the most beautiful and poetic repertoires in the entire history of music from the 17th, 18th, and up to the mid-19th century—also included in the concert program of the Academy and its resident ensemble, Il Rossignolo—alongside other Academy students and internationally renowned artists in the musical field.

Awards & distinctions

Although it has only been established for a year, the MilleVoci Choir has already performed in various concerts where it has explored monodic and polyphonic didactic singing, as well as a well-known repertoire featuring pieces by Monteverdi, Handel, Bach, Mendelssohn, and Reger.

Following the “from children to children” principle, funds were raised during all of the MilleVoci Choir’s first concerts—which is also supported by the Tesi Group Foundation of Pistoia—and were entirely donated to organizations working in the field of care and support for children and young people suffering from illnesses.
