Eufónia Teacher’s Choir

Choir presentation

Founded in 2016, the Eufónia Teachers’ Choir is a renowned and acclaimed all-female group, directed by Dr. Strausz Imre-István, which performs regularly at national and international music festivals. Its members are dedicated teachers who, through their frequent performances, enrich the city’s cultural life while actively promoting choral music both at home and abroad.

The Choirs’ primary objective is to present choral music of the highest quality, featuring works by composers who occupy an important place in the history of music. At the same time, the Choirs are open to exploring a wide range of genres – from classical choral works to musical theater and contemporary compositions – striving to build a diverse and colorful repertoire.

Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary artistic projects and collaborations. The choir frequently works with representatives of other art forms – including theaters, radio, staged reading troupes and contemporary artists – to create complex cultural experiences. These partnerships aim to offer audiences new perspectives and broaden their engagement with the arts. Through its annual concerts, the Eufónia Teachers’ Choir considers it an important mission to enrich the cultural values of the city where it resides (Târgu Mureş, in Transylvania, Romania).

The Choirs’ motto is:
“Singing is like painting: you need colors, colors and more colors.” (Benjamin Gigli)
