2027 International Choral Competition in Provence
From July 3 to 6, 2027, Saint-Raphaël will host the 6th edition of the International Choir Competition in Provence, Choral Events’ major annual gathering dedicated to international choral competition.
Facing the Mediterranean, in the heart of the French Riviera, choirs from around the world come together for several days to share their passion, compare their artistic work, and experience an extraordinary musical journey.
The event has now taken on major international significance. In 2026, over 1,000 choristers representing 27 choirs, 16 countries, and 4 continents gathered in Saint-Raphaël, making the city a true global crossroads of choral singing.
But the identity of the competition is not based solely on competition.
Since its creation, our ambition has been to bring together artistic excellence and conviviality, allowing ensembles to measure themselves against one another while fostering exchanges between choristers, choir directors, and professionals from very different cultures.
Around ten categories allow ensembles with varied profiles and repertoires to participate: mixed or equal-voice choirs, vocal ensembles, children’s, youth, or senior choirs, sacred music, traditional repertoires, pop, gospel, and other choral singing styles. The competition is intended for amateur choirs, from France and abroad.
The best ensembles then come together for the highlight of the competition: the Grand Prix, before the closing ceremony and awards presentation. The format of recent editions also includes exchanges with jury members and musical moments bringing together participating ensembles.
