Hangzhou Aiyue Tianshi Choir

Founded in 1999 by current artistic director Hong Yan and conductor Zhou Weiping, the Hangzhou Aiyue Tianshi Choir is now one of China’s best children’s choirs. The choir received the ‘Top Ten Choirs’ award from the ‘Zhejiang Provincial Choral Union’ and the ‘China Musicians Association’ in 2009. It was also named ‘National Outstanding Choir’ by the ‘China Choral Association’ in 2013.

Over the past 20 years, the choir has organized more than 200 concerts and won numerous awards in national and international choral competitions. In addition to performing successfully worldwide, the choir has also hosted many famous choral groups from different countries. These concerts and friendly exchanges have enriched the choir with greater openness to the diversity of the choral world.

◆ Gold Medal at the 3rd International Choir Olympics in Bremen in 2004

◆ The ‘Braun Award’ Gold Medal at the first National Youth Choir Festival in 2006

◆ 1st Prize in the Folk category at the 8th Golden Gate International Youth Chorus Festival in the United States in 2009

◆ 1st Prize in the Children’s category at the 28th International Festival of Musica de Cantonigros in Spain in 2010

◆ 1st Prize in the Children’s category at the 15th International Kathaumixw Choir Competition in Canada in 2012

◆ Gold Medal in both Children’s and Folk categories at the 8th Brahms International Chorus Festival in Germany in 2013

◆ Gold Award in the Children’s category at the 7th World Peace Chorus Festival in Vienna in 2016

◆ Chinese Children’s Concert at the G20 Summit in Hangzhou in 2016

◆ 1st Prize in the Children’s category at the 7th Bali International Choir Festival in 2018

◆ 1st Prize in the Children’s category at the 11th Johannes Brahms Choir Competition in 2019
