Choir of the Medical University of Lodz

Choir presentation
The Choir of the Medical University of Lodz was founded in March 2005 at the initiative of the Rector’s authorities. Since its inception, the choir has been conducted by a well-known conductor, Professor of Musical Arts Anna Domańska—long-standing staff member of the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz. Katarzyna Starosta is the choir president, Justyna Przytulska is the assistant conductor, and Jakub Czech is the pianist.
The choir members are students and employees of the Medical University, as well as its graduates, who already work as doctors, pharmacists, or medical assistants.
We are united by a shared passion for music, which brings us great joy. The many rehearsals, concerts, competitions, and festivals allow us not only to develop continuously, but also to build a harmonious team. All of this is reflected in the quality and character of each of our concerts.
The Choir of the Medical University of Lodz gives numerous concerts in Poland and abroad.
The choir’s repertoire is diverse and includes classical, sacred, contemporary, and popular music.
Our singing is heard at all important ceremonies of the Medical University of Lodz. However, this is only part of our activity. We take part in charity campaigns, such as the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, as well as initiatives for various foundations. We also give many performances at cultural events in the city of Łódź, such as the Festival of Science, Technology and Art, “Senioralia”, or scientific congresses. Audiences can also hear us at New Year’s concerts.
We are dynamic and eager to establish new contacts within the musical community. We engage in artistic projects and, in collaboration with orchestras, perform major works of classical music such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
Our extensive repertoire, which we continually expand, enables us to take part in many national and international competitions and festivals, bringing us increasing success.
The Choir of the Medical University of Lodz has had the opportunity to perform for audiences from all over the world: England, France, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Bulgaria, the United States, Montenegro, Germany, Greece, and Turkey.
