The mixed choir Les Alouettes aims to be a friendly group, open to all, and whose main purpose is to make choral singing accessible to everyone and to promote music through cultural exchanges.

Awards & distinctions

− January 1932: Creation of the men’s choir
− 1961: The society takes the name “Les Alouettes de Notre-Dame”
− 1963: Women are admitted, the choir becomes a mixed choir
− June 1997: Central Switzerland Singing Festival in Stans, Canton of Nidwalden
− June 1999: Fribourg Cantonal Singers’ Festival in Treyvaux
− December 1999: International Advent Singing Festival in Vienna (Austria) − December 2001: Concert as part of the Téléthon in Combronde, Auvergne (France)
− May 2002: Grand concert “Aimer” with musical accompaniment (piano, drums, bass, trumpet, trombone). Harmonized French songs, musicals, etc.
− April 2004: International Singing Competition in Verona (Italy). Les Alouettes win the silver cup in the mixed category.
− November 2009: Concert-show “The 4 Elements” organized for the inauguration of a new banner
− October 2010: Choral meetings in Nice (France)
− May 2016: Trip to Rome, sung mass in the Swiss Guard chapel
− September 2019: Change of the choir’s name to “Les Alouettes”
− October 2023: Concert-show “Voyage…Voyage…” with musicians (piano, bass, double bass, cello, cornet, oboe, guitar) and actors, a funny, tender, and contemporary story through French songs from the 60s to the present day
− June 2024: Fribourg Cantonal Singers’ Festival “Tutticanti” in Wünnewil

THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Jeanne Pittet

Jeanne Pittet is continuing her training at the Haute École de Musique in Granges-Paccot to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Music in School, until July 2024. In July 2021, she completed her high school diploma in a bilingual class at Collège Ste-Croix in Fribourg with:

  • Specific option, Music.
  • Complementary option, Psychology-Pedagogy.

Jeanne worked as a substitute music teacher at the Cycle d’Orientation de Jolimont in Fribourg between 2021-08-25 and 2021-12-22.

Between February 2019 and July 2021, she attended classes at the Fribourg Conservatory and obtained a pre-professional certificate in oboe.
