In 2027, the International Choral Festival in Provence celebrates a historic anniversary: its 30th edition. Created in 1997, this unmissable international choral event has established itself over the years as a major artistic reference, becoming the largest international choral festival in France. Every summer, it brings together choirs from France and around the world in Provence for a grand musical tour through the towns and villages of the region.
The 2027 edition will take on a very special dimension, as it will bear the name of its founder, who passed away in 2023: the Robert Francescato Edition.
Through this tribute, we wish to celebrate the vision of a passionate man who dedicated a large part of his life to promoting choral singing, fostering cross-cultural encounters, and making Provence a welcoming land for thousands of choristers from all over the world.
Unique in its kind, the International Choral Festival in Provence offers much more than a succession of concerts: it is a human, artistic, and cultural adventure, where voices meet, repertoires intertwine, and audiences discover the rich diversity of international choral singing.
Each year, the festival welcomes approximately 30 international choirs and offers an extensive concert tour throughout Provence. In recent editions, over 5,000 spectators attended around thirty free concerts, organized throughout July in about twenty Provençal towns and villages. Ensembles from all over the world have already participated in this adventure, helping to make the festival an event that is at once prestigious, convivial, and profoundly international.
Participating in the International Choral Festival in Provence means experiencing music in the heart of an emblematic region, amidst heritage, light, art de vivre, and human encounters. It also means joining a story that began thirty years ago and taking part in an exceptional anniversary edition.
