Triglavske rož’ce Ladies Choir

Choir presentation

The choir is made up of a small group of delightful singers who are highly motivated and passionate about music.

The choir’s name, Triglavske rož’ce, means “the flowers of Triglav”, Triglav being the highest peak in Slovenia. In other words, the young women blossom like flowers and are as tall as Triglav.

It all began with a desire, a project: to go beyond the repertoire of sacred songs for Mass by adding traditional Slovenian folk music.

This is how a group of young women was formed, first in their village, and then increasingly throughout the region.

The choir was founded in 2010 and joined the Bohinj Cultural Association. The choir’s line-up has evolved over the years, but the group’s passion and determination have remained intact.

This year, the choir is celebrating its 13th anniversary and its fifth festival outside Slovenia.

The group currently has 13 members, aged 25 to 50. Its choir director, Urška Odar, is highly experienced, having sung with the choir from the very beginning for the first 10 years, and joining the group again for this festival.

The choir mainly takes part in local events for various occasions, but it also performs at festivals abroad.
