Vocal Blue Trains

Vocal Blue Trains – Italy

Choir presentation

Vocal Blue Trains is a vocal group made up of 36 singers and musicians, founded and led by Alessandro Gerini, an Italian-Polish singer, vocal coach, and arranger. Their unique, multifaceted sound combines a choral imprint of gospel and traditional polyphony with modern electronic house and ambient rhythms.

In four years, the group has gained national and international recognition thanks to major collaborations with Italian and international artists such as the Italian pop star Ultimo, the English star Paul Phoenix, former member of the a cappella group the King’s Singers (Grammy Award winner), the Italian actor and presenter Gigi Proietti, the American soul singer Sergio Sylvestre, as well as the Italian rock band Modà.

Vocal Blue Trains, as a professional choir, is invited as a “Guest” for the opening ceremony of the International Choral Competition in Provence, on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Saint-Raphaël. The Vocal Blue Trains choir will not take part in the competition as a contestant.

In addition, the choir will perform on Sunday, July 7, 2025, for an electro-gospel concert at Parc de la Navale in La Seyne-sur-Mer, at 9:00 PM.

Awards & distinctions

Vocal Blue Trains has given more than 100 concerts across Italy, Europe, and Asia, including at prestigious festivals such as the Lucca International Choir Festival, the Wien International Festival for Choirs and Orchestras, the Prague Advent Choral Meeting, the Jeju International Choir & Symposium 2018 (South Korea), the Pantheon gala concert in Rome, the Pistoia Blues Festival, and the Moscow Sounds Festival 2019 by Chorus Inside, where they received the prestigious “Best Overall Performance” award—the first time a foreign choir has received this prize!

Vocal Blue Trains has released four official music videos over the past three years, including original arrangements of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and an electronic gospel arrangement of the hit “Lonely Boy” by The Black Keys.

Vocal Blue Trains has an ongoing collaboration with the world-renowned vocal coach Paul Phoenix as artist-in-residence. The partnership includes recording sessions and workshops. In 2019, the choir also recorded with the Italian singer-songwriter Ultimo for his hit single “Tutto questo sei tu” and a second single to be released soon.
