SOLIDEO VOICES – INDONESIA

Choir presentation

The Solideo Voices choir was founded on April 17, 2010, by young Christians, under the direction of Felipus Tefi, on the beautiful island of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan/TTS), in the Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia.

This choir is one of many choirs in TTS, and its members come from various Christian churches on the island. It is affiliated with the GMIT Efata Soe church but performs in many churches both within and outside the city. The choir’s motto is “Singing From Your Heart.”

Over time, the choir became well-known and popular both locally and in many surrounding cities.

Since then, it has received numerous invitations to participate in events such as wedding receptions, Christmas events, Independence Day events, concerts, and more.

Awards & distinctions

To enrich and stimulate the talent of its choristers, the choir decided to participate in choral singing Competitions. It thus participated in two different singing Competitions organized by the Bethel Oesapa Barat church, where it won second place, as well as fourth place at the AFB TV and Kupang Radio Choir Festival in December 2016.

Subsequently, Solideo Voice Choir earned a “GOLD MEDAL” at the “Bali International Choir” in three categories: Gospel, Spiritual, and Mixed Choir in 2017.

Furthermore, the choir participated in the “Penabur International Choir Festival” Competition, where they obtained the 3rd Prize in the Mixed Choir category.

The choir’s participation and excellent results in these Competitions have stimulated and encouraged the singers’ work, leading to continuous progress in vocal quality and performance.

In July 2023, this choir participated in the renowned “World Choir Games (WCG) by Interkultur in Gangneung, South Korea, where it won the “CHAMPION” category.

For 2024, the SOLIDEO VOICES choir, directed by Felipus Tefi, has chosen to participate in the International Choral Competition of Provence in two categories: Equal Voices and Pop/Gospel.
