Shenzhen Perennial Choir of China

China’s “Shenzhen Perennial” Choirs are made up of retired professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including doctors, teachers, engineers, civil servants and business executives. Under the able direction of its permanent conductor, Mr. Chen Guanghui, and thanks to many years of assiduous rehearsals by its members, the Choirs has never ceased to perfect its art, and is regularly invited to perform at prestigious events.
The Choirs have been repeatedly invited as special guests to major festivals such as the “Shenzhen Bay Area National Senior Choral Arts Festival”, and have been invited to participate in specialized arts festivals in various cities in Guangdong province, including Dongguan, Zhongshan and Zhuhai.
In 2025, the Choirs successively staged “The Yellow River Cantata” special concert and the 2026 New Year concert, performing dozens of Chinese and international classics. These performances not only deeply touched the audience, but also demonstrated the enduring artistic passion of the senior community, attracting sustained interest from senior choral enthusiasts across the province and city.
THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Chen Guanghui
Chen Guanghui is a major figure in the choral world, recognized for his leadership in China and internationally. Currently a member of the World Council of Choirs and Vice-President of the World Chinese Choral Federation, he combines institutional commitment with artistic expertise.
He chairs the Shenzhen Choir Association and directs the Futian Xinghui Choir, which he founded. As associate professor at Shenzhen University of Technology’s School of Music, he trains future generations of musicians.
A former vice-president of the China Choral Association and president of the Guangdong Choral Association, he has left his mark on Chinese choral history. His experience as a jury member at international competitions (World Choral Games, Grand Prix des Nations, etc.) and his prestigious awards (Golden Bell Award, Stars Award) attest to his influence.
His career embodies an ambitious vision for Choirs music, combining tradition and innovation.
