Created in 2011, the Renaissance choir “Florentina” offers a repertoire of music composed between 1400 and 1600, and even some more medieval or later songs, by well-known composers such as Clément Janequin, Jacques Arcadelt, Jean Philippe Rameau, Bach or Vivaldi, etc, .

The Florentina Choir hails from the south of France, in the middle of the Pyrenees, south of Toulouse. On the occasion of its fifteenth anniversary, it has chosen to travel to Tuscany, cradle of the Renaissance.

The 20-strong group sings polyphonic music in 3 or 4 voices, a capella or accompanied by harp or mandolin. It is directed by Marie-Denise Dollé, a singer from an early age and an accomplished musician. The choir performs in period costumes (medieval or Renaissance) and takes part in historical festivals, in heritage sites steeped in history, such as castles and churches.

These in situ experiences enable us to meet other choirs, to experiment outside our walls, to introduce other audiences to this repertoire, to strengthen the cohesion of the group and to deepen our repertoire, among other things.
