Odense Chamber Choir

The Odense Chamber Choir consists of approximately 25 experienced singers and is among the best amateur a cappella choirs in Denmark.
Its international repertoire is very broad and diverse, covering periods from the Renaissance to the present day.
In addition to Danish, the choir performs works in English, German, Latin, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Russian, and more.
The choir’s origins date back to 1951, when it was known as the “Odense University Small Choir.”
From 2000 to 2017, the choir was named the University of Southern Denmark Chamber Choir and was conducted by Saul Zaks.
Since 2018, the Odense Chamber Choir has been conducted by Uffe Most (born 1958).
THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Uffe Most
Uffe Most trained as a pianist and conductor at the conservatories of Aarhus and Hanover and currently directs the Odense Music School.
Uffe Most is also a composer and arranger.
In 1992, Uffe Most received the award for best composer at the Kalundborg Choir Competition, and in 1993, he received the award for best conductor at the 4th Budapest International Choir Competition.
From 1987 to 2007, he conducted the Aarhus Academic Choir.
In March 2002, Uffe Most was appointed guest professor at the Music Department of Shaoxing University, China, and in 2005-2006, he resided in China as a guest professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Music Department of Shaoxing University, where he taught and conducted the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Girls’ Choir and the Shaoxing University Mixed Choir.
Since 2006, Uffe Most has conducted the Vox Aros male choir.
Since 2017, Uffe Most has been a foreign guest conductor for the Shanghai Youth Choir, which, in the summer of 2018, won 1st prize at the Bela Bartok International Choir Competition in Debrecen, Hungary.
