Although the Klaipėda University mixed choir “Pajūrio aidos” is still young, it is collectively full of enthusiasm and love for music.

The choir was founded in 2007 by its founder and conductor, Professor Algirdas Šumskis.

From its inception, the choir has been able to touch the hearts of Lithuanians in various cities such as Nida, Kretinga, Šiauliai, Pagėgiai, Kaunas, and Vilnius.

Awards & distinctions

It has participated in the Lithuanian national and regional “Song Celebration,” as well as festivals and competitions.

The choir has not limited itself to Lithuania, having participated in the international Baltic festival “Gaudeamus,” which is held in Latvia, Estonia, or Lithuania.

In 2012, the choir performed concerts in Granada, Spain, and performed Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” with the Granada String Orchestra and soloists.

To this day, the choir actively participates in various projects and concerts.

The mixed choir’s repertoire, which is broad in terms of musical genres, includes works by Lithuanian and foreign composers from different eras.
