The “Laudamus Choir” was founded in 1996 as a cultural association dedicated to promoting national and international musical heritage through concerts, choral festivals, and civic and religious events. The choir currently consists of 35 members, some of whom are music enthusiasts at an amateur level and others professional musicians.

Under the direction of Maestro Andrea Dellavedova, it has given numerous concerts and participated in choral festivals in Italy and abroad, forming partnerships with the “RTG” Choir of Grimmenstein-Vienna, the Polyphonic Choir of Mering-Bavaria, and the Cantu’s and Ain’Tonation Choirs of Bourg-en-Bresse (France).

Awards & distinctions

In 2011, it participated in the “Prague Advent Choral Meeting” in Prague (Czech Republic).
In 2015, it took part in the major choral event “Conto Cento Canto Pace” at the Arena di Verona.
In 2016, it participated in the 1st International Choir Festival in Gozo (Malta).

Each year, the association promotes singing and vocal courses open to all and organizes the traditional annual choral review held in Nerviano (MI) since 2006.
Over the years, the choral ensemble has offered its audience concerts and opera arias from the Italian tradition.

In 2007, 2008, and 2010, complete performances of Pietro Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” were presented.
In 2015, Gaetano Donizetti’s three-act comic opera “Don Pasquale” was performed.
In 2016, Giacomo Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” was offered to the public.
In 2017, Georges Bizet’s “Carmen.”

The orchestral performances of Giacomo Puccini’s “Messa di Gloria” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Messa di Requiem” were particularly noteworthy.

THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Andrea Dellavedova

After graduating in piano from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan under the direction of Maestro Gino Ielo, he subsequently attended specialization courses taught by Professors Maria Lilia Bertola and Anita Porrini, both principal piano professors at the Milan Conservatory.

After studying composition with Maestro Luigi Molfino, he was admitted to the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan in the class of Maestro Franco Monego, under whose direction he obtained his diploma in choral music and choir conducting.

He subsequently attended an advanced course for choir conductors given by Maestro Tonu Kaljuste, several vocal courses, and a conducting course given by Maestro Emilio Pomarico.

He also attended a “film music” course given by Maestro Bruno Miceli and Maestro Ennio Morricone at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

He currently conducts the Laudamus Choir of Nerviano, whose repertoire ranges from early music to contemporary music, from sacred music to pop and jazz, from folk music to opera. The concerts given in Grimmenstein (Austria) and Mering (Germany) were highly acclaimed. Performances of several operas (Cavalleria Rusticana, Don Pasquale, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Così fan tutte, Traviata) and several sacred music concerts (Requiem and several masses by Mozart, Gloria and Magnificat by Vivaldi, Messa di Gloria by Puccini, etc.).

He conducts the “Stella Alpina” choir in Bareggio, with a repertoire of folk songs. In 2003, he won third prize in the USCI competition in the province of Milan and has represented the province of Milan for several years in the folk song festivals of the Lombard provinces.

He also conducts the “Santa Cecilia” parish choir of Arluno, with which he celebrates liturgical services and organizes concerts with a repertoire of sacred music, chamber music, opera, and operetta choruses.

He teaches piano, theory and solfège, as well as harmony at the parish music school of Nerviano and at the Accademia Emiliani in Corbetta.
