Ganbara Abesbatza

Oñatiko Ganbara Abesbatza is a mixed choir founded in 1994 by 12 young adults.
Year after year, and with the same passion as when it began, the group has grown with the addition of new singers. Today, under the direction of Aitor Biain Bidarte, the choir consists of 40 performers. Its repertoire spans all styles and eras: polyphony, folklore, gospel, and spiritual music. Basque folklore and works by modern composers are the most frequently featured in their concert programs.
THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Aitor Biain Bidarte
Aitor Biain Bidarte began his musical journey studying clarinet, saxophone, and voice at the Oñati School of Music.
He later continued his studies, earning a professional degree in singing (Jesús Guridi Conservatory), a degree in music pedagogy (Musikene), and a degree in choral singing and conducting (Musikene).
He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mondragon.
He has participated in several courses and seminars with world-renowned professors.
He is currently the conductor of the Choir of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), the Bergara Choral Society, Oñatiko Ganbara Abesbatza, Hots Abesbatza, and Ganbara Gazte-Txiki.
