Fonos is a vocal ensemble bringing together singers from 7 countries, based in Amsterdam.

The repertoire is diverse, ranging from classical to contemporary pieces.

All musicians are graduates of various institutions, which allows them to actively participate in projects across Europe alongside the most renowned singers.

The group was formed following one of these projects in the summer of 2021, during a Dutch master’s program by P. Sweelinck focusing on more contemporary composers like Ton de Leeuw, led by conductor Daniel Reuss.

The diverse cultural backgrounds of all the singers enable Fonos to approach traditional concepts in a new way, combining the quality of its members and sharing individual perspectives to work together.

The ensemble aims for a unique and rich sound in every performance.
