Le Pelerin Choir

Choir presentation

The choir “Le Pèlerin“, a choral society from Chardonne and Jongny, was founded in 1878. With around sixty singers of all ages, the choir is well balanced, with the different voice parts well represented. Eclecticism is the watchword, and our repertoire ranges from Passereau to Nougaro, from Bach to Gotainer, from Bovet to Fugain, from Chedid to Queen, including spirituals, musicals, classical music, jazz, and rock.

For nearly 150 years, it has brought together musical souls seeking companionship and conviviality.

Through the harmony of voices, the union of hearts!”

THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Timothée HALLER

Born in 1983 and seated at the piano from a very young age, Timothée Haller first studied classical music at the Institut de Ribaupierre and then at the Conservatoire de Morges until 2001. He resumed his studies at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne in 2006 and obtained a Master’s degree in pedagogy.

Alongside his classical training, he began a career in contemporary music by accompanying amateur choirs from 1999. Piano accompaniment and a few songs written by chance led him, in 2002, to join the Ateliers du Funambule in Nyon, where he began his first stage collaborations (Loraine Félix, KifKif). He worked there as a singer-songwriter for 3 years, then decided to become involved in the administrative and educational management of the workshops until 2010. In 2007, he was hired by Paola Landolt and Stéphane Rentzink for Je ne veux qu’une nuit by the company Qu’est-ce t’as toi ?; since then, he has collaborated on every project by the company, as well as with others. He is regularly engaged by various stage directors to compose and produce original soundtracks, arrangements, or to provide artistic direction.

In the choral world, he has conducted the mixed choir Le Pèlerin since 2010 and, in 2023, founded the Cully-Cui’Band at the instigation of Stéphane Eicher. He creates numerous arrangements for equal or mixed voices based on songs from the pop-rock and variety repertoire.

In addition to his artistic engagements, he has been teaching music at the Bugnon upper secondary school (Lausanne) since 2010.
