Choir presentation
The vocal group The Hummingbird (Kolibri) is from Riga, Latvia. It brings together eight highly motivated young singers, aged 17 to 19, who have been singing together since they were children. Over the past three years, the group has become increasingly interested in a cappella music, drawing inspiration from various vocal groups such as “Cosmos” and “Latvian Voices” from Latvia, as well as world-renowned ensembles like “Voces8” and “The Real Group.”
THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Agnese Malnača
Agnese Malnača is a long-time vocal coach and teacher of the children’s and youth vocal group The Hummingbird. She began her musical studies at the Riga Cathedral Choir School and trained as a classical singer. Currently, she works on several different projects for children and youth as a musical and stage director. Since 2021, Agnese Malnača has worked at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet as an assistant director.
