Lorraine Youth Choir

Choir presentation

Founded in 2004, the Lorraine Youth Choir is based in Nancy (54) under the patronage of the Les Madrigales association. Composed of teenagers and young adults, it performs regularly in the region but readily performs abroad whenever the opportunity arises.

No musical genre or style is excluded from its repertoire; however, music from the 20th and 21st centuries is largely represented.

Awards & distinctions

The Lorraine Youth Choir is a member of Nancy Voix du Monde (International Choral Singing Festival).

To enable singers to tackle major works, the choir director regularly organizes choir gatherings. This has allowed our young performers to appear in Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and, during the 2022/2023 season, Karl Jenkins’ Requiem.

THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Elisabeth Renaudin

Elisabeth Renaudin, Choir Director

Elisabeth Renaudin (choir director) has led the choir since its creation. Holder of the CAPES in Music Education and Choral Singing, she also holds diplomas in piano, music theory, and chamber music from the CNR of Nancy.

Philippe Klein, Choir Director

Philippe Klein (pianist), unanimous gold medalist in piano, music theory, and chamber music from the CNR of Nancy, holds a DE in piano and jazz, a DES from the École Normale de Paris, and a DEM in improvised music and jazz from Strasbourg.
