The Choir of the Medical University of Gdansk is the culmination of a 75-year tradition of artistic activity in the Alma Mater region, Pomerania, and brings together a wide range of enthusiasts of great musical culture from across the country.
The group has performed in over 25 countries worldwide and is proud to have received exceptional awards at prestigious choral festivals and competitions.
The choristers are primarily students from the Medical University of Gdansk, but the choir also includes individuals from outside this community who have been singing with them for many years. The choir welcomes diverse age groups, proud to connect generations and create unique emotions on stage.
The artistic director and choir conductor is Błażej Połom – the 9th choirmaster in the choir’s history.
THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Błażej Połom
Błażej Połom was born on June 11, 1983. In 2007, he graduated with honors from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk. Since 2018, he has been the choirmaster and artistic director of the Medical University of Gdansk Choir.
As choirmaster, he successfully leads the Choir in national and international competitions and festivals.
One of the most significant awards the choir has won under his direction is the Golden Band – awarded in 2019 for Best Performance. During the same competition – the International Choral Festival in Szczecin, Błażej Połom received the award for best choirmaster of the festival.
