Brunnsbo Musikklasser was founded in 1985. It is a school offering music education to 180 children from fourth to ninth grade, who meet four times a week to develop their choral singing skills.
Over the years, the choir has toured many countries in Europe and even China.
THE CHOIR DIRECTOR: Kicki Rosén Bejstam
Kicki Rosén Bejstam is the artistic director of Brunnsbo Music Classes in Gothenburg, Sweden, which frequently collaborates with the Concert Hall, the Gothenburg Wind Orchestra, and the Gothenburg Opera. She conducts the Brunnsbo Music Classes girls’ choir and tours extensively around the world. She holds a master’s degree in music education from Örebro University and a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. Kicki is also a freelance conductor and singer. She sings as first soprano in the Swedish Vocal Art Ensemble. She has served as president of the youth choir association UNGiKÖR vast, Swedish representative for INTERKULTUR, and is part of the artistic committee for the European Choir Games, Gothenburg 2019.
The choir is often invited to perform in prestigious venues, such as the Gothenburg Opera, concert halls, and even for the King and Queen at the Swedish Parliament Chamber. In December 2022, Brunnsbo Musikklasser was invited to participate in the traditional Santa Lucia production on Swedish television. The choir director is Kicki Rosén Bejstam.
