As we know, choir and music are also becoming two important and interesting aspects compared to the other aspects of the world of art. Generally, the choir is a place to express feelings and also a great vessel to communicate with many people by singing.

On the other hand, the most important thing about joining or being a member of a choir is to serve God the almighty Lord by praising and glorifying His name through singing then His name will be praised forever by everyone in this wonderful land.

Deal with a wonderful land, there is a choir who is living in South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan/ TTS) a gorgeous island, called Solideo Voice. It was established on 17th April 2010 with the conductor Felipus Tefi, by Christian young people with a great purpose only to praise God’s name and be light for societies in this world.

This choir is one of several choirs in TTS and the members are from various Christian churches named GMIT on the island. In running its servicing process, the choir is in the shelter of GMIT Efata Soe Church. However, it does not mean the choir only does its service in the church but also in many churches whether located in the city they live in or other cities far from their city because Solideo Voice is only God’s own not human’s. This choir also has a short motto which always be their guideline, it is “Singing From Your Heart”.

As time passed by, the choir became known then being popular in their city and some cities they have ever visited or have not as well. Therefore, the choir also gets many invitations to join events and sing there such as Wedding Parties, Christmas events, Independence Day events, singing concert etc. Therefore, the conductor and some members of this choir made a deal in this case, to improve their ability to sing and praise God’s Name, to be better singers for God, they decided to join some choir competitions until now.

Hence by knowing so, the government and some churches in the city also become big supporters for this choir to join any events related to any singing choir competitions.

Some events have already followed this choir and the results as well never make them be disappointed in the struggle they have experienced. First, this choir joined two different singing choir competitions by Bethel Oesapa Barat Church and won the second position in the competition, also the fourth position they got on the Choir Festival by AFB TV and Kupang Radio in December 2016. Second, Solideo Voice Choir got a “GOLD MEDAL” in joining the Bali International Choir in Bali for three categories, such as Gospel, Spiritual and Mix Choir Categories in 2017. Besides that, the choir joined again a choir competition called the Penabur International Choir Festival competition and they were the 3rd winner in the Mixed Choir Category.

Joining the competitions and winning in some categories did not make this choir stop practicing and being satisfied with the result. However, the conductor as well as the singing choir couch, always treats his better ways to make the singers be awesome more and more. Hence, recently in July 2023, this choir just followed a choir competition named World Choir Games (WCG) in Gangneung, South Korea. The category followed by this choir is Spiritual and by praising God’s Name the choir won the category as “CHAMPION”.

Therefore, during the year of 14th, this choir with the conductor Felipus Tefi, is going to join the International Choir Competition in Provence in July 2024 by joining two categories, Equal Voices and Pop/Gospel.

Finally, in a big hope by joining this competition, the choir will make everyone who hears their voices while singing are always blessed by the Lord God and His name is going to be praised and glorified forever by all creatures.
