Taking its name from the famous Othello opera by G. Verdi and the Othello Castle which is located in Famagusta and whose story was written by W. Shakespeare, Othello Polyphonic Choir was established in 10 November 2010 in Cyprus. In addition to World choir literature, it has also taken Polyphonic Turkish Folk Music, choir works from various eras and Cyprus Polyphonic Choir Works into its repertoire and is continuing its works.

The Choir performed many concerts in Cyprus, Turkey and Europe and also, hosted festivals and choir workshops in its country. Having taken part in many international festivals, the Choir earned great achievement in the international choir’s competition held in Barcelona (International Pau Casals Choir Competition “Canco Mediterrania) in 2019 and brought the silver medal for second place in folk music category to its country.

Othello Polyphonic Choir has an album and music book called “Otello’s Dream” released in 2020.

The conductors of the Choir are Rana Uluçay and Erkan Dağlı.
