Gioventù in Cantata is a formation born in 1971 with the aim of promoting and developing the choral education of children, which over the years has gradually transformed to become a real school of “choral music” currently affiliated to the Conservatoire A Pedrollo from Vicenza and characterized by the constant search for new repertoires and new forms of artistic expression.

The result is a vast repertoire and a rich musical range exploring many styles, from classical to contemporary music, interpreted with a strong personality thanks to the association with musical practice, new elements of theatricality, gestures and movement led by Giulia Malvezzi.

Under the attentive and stimulating direction of its director Cinzia Zanon, the choir continues its path with tremendous energy in order to always improve and renew itself by giving the public authentic and intense emotions.

The group is also at the origin of important musical events (Spring Music – International Choral Meetings, Poetry in song, etc.) with the idea that the meeting between different artistic practices can create relationships of mutual enrichment.

Along with the attention to in-depth study and artistic and vocal improvement (the latter is taught individually by Professor Manuela Matteazzi), the value is constantly emphasized.

The “choral” activity must be educational: children, adolescents and young people are guided in efforts to share, in the acceptance of rules of behavior and collective relations to obtain results and common satisfactions.

It is thanks to all these reasons that in November 2017 the group won the coveted prize of the city of Marostica.

“Gioventù in Cantata” is currently composed of more than 50 elements, mainly coming from the experience of basic music lessons.

He has participated in many Festivals, Reviews, National and International Competitions.

In May 2017 he won first prize in his category at the National Vittorio Veneto Competition and in the same month, in the Under 10 category, he obtained second place in the national competition “Il Garda in coro”, where he won also won the special prize for the best repertoire and the best conductor.

He obtained the Grand Prize of the 5th International Competition “Il Garda in coro” (Malcesine April 2016) as well as the first prize in his category and three Special Prizes, including that of the best conductor.

At the 8th Venetian Choralism Festival (October 2014), he obtained the Medal of Excellence in two categories of the competition, as well as two special prizes.

This recognition allowed him to be selected in the shortlist of Italian choral ensembles and represented the Veneto region at Expo Milano 2015, performing in a series of concerts at the Palazzo d’Italia.

He has given countless concerts in various Italian cities, conceived and proposed shows: “ragazzi che si amano”, “Emmanuele Dio con noi”, “I believe, coltivo l’albero della vita che vorrei”,

“Smile” and the most recent “Panta rei”; he participated in the preparation of important works also in national creation, we quote in particular the three operas of Maestro Pierangelo Valtinoni: Pinocchio (2008), The Snow Queen (2011 and 2019) and The Wizard of Oz (2017).

The Choir has toured Spain, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Romania, Argentina and Brazil, Germany, Finland, Russia, Estonia, United States, Canada, France, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, the Philippines, Inner Mongolia and China everywhere attract considerable praise.

The choir has produced 6 CDs, the most recent, Music is MaGIC, was released in January 2018.

Cinzia Zanon, Choir Master,

Cinzia Zanon graduated in Choral Music and Conducting under the direction of Maestro Bruno Coltro.

During her training, she took specialization courses with internationally renowned teachers.

The desire to transmit the passion, the enthusiasm for singing and music in general, combined with the conviction of the great pedagogical value of the “choir”, led her to specialize in the teaching sector by following internships throughout Italy and alternately organizing refresher courses for teachers and choir directors.

Among the most recent is the participation as a workshop teacher, in 2012 and 2013, in the Spring Festival, a national choral event organized by Feniarco, reserved for young choirs.

She is a member of listening commissions and juries in national reviews and competitions.
