Choir Artos was founded in 2008 as a parish choir of church named bl. Klement Sheptytskyi in Lviv. All members of the choir are amateurs. Today, more than 30 people participate in the choir’s activities. Thanks to the singers and their choirmaster, the repertoire of the choir has grown and varied considerably. Choir repertoire includes liturgical and secular chants. The main goal of the choir is to promote traditional Ukrainian choir music.

Choir Artos performs music pieces that come from XVI century till modern times. There are works of famous Ukrainian composers like Dyletskyi, Bortnyanskyi, Vedel, Berezovskyi, Leontovych, Verbytskyi, Stecenko, Kozarenko etc. Also, the choir performs works of European and American composers : a wide repertoire from Orlando di Lasso, Luca Marenzio, Charls Perry to Gordon Young and Jozef Swider etc. Since its founding, the choir has participated in many concerts, festivals and competitions in Ukraine and abroad (Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia etc). here are some of them…

  • Snina during festival “XXIII Festival duchovnej piesne” – Slovakia, 2013.
  • Lviv during VIII Festival Easter Bells – Lviv, Ukraine, 2015
  • Campolongo, Spilimbergo and Tavagnacco during 15th Seghizzinregione – Italy, 2017
